When selecting breakfast venues probably the most important question you need to ask yourself is ‘how big will their mushrooms be?’. Unless you have it on good authority that the mushrooms are massive, you should give the place a wide berth.

Which is why pearl oyster in miller st thornbury is top of the pops at the moment. The mushrooms have elephantitis but in a good, non-diseased way. They come with goats cheese or alternately, poached eggs, the latter option being better. Attest to your anal-ness by requesting gluten free bread and there you have it: the best breakfast ever. (Except if you’re Carney and then it’s ‘where’s the rest of it? I want bacon and mini sausages’).
